This blog grows out of the marriage of two partners, both of which are passionate about and working towards meaningful implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS): Boston Collegiate Charter School (BCCS) and The Achievement Network (ANet). The aim of the project, Modeling the Transition: A School-Non-Profit Partnership To Accelerate the Transition to the Common Core Through Teacher Networks, is to chronicle the story of BCCS as it continues to make its transition to the Common Core, with all of its opportunities and challenges, and make it accessible to both ANet’s 8000+ network of teachers as well as the greater community of teachers and schools working through their own transition. ANet will be capturing this transition through video, photography, documents, interviews and more as they follow six teachers through their transition to CCSS. The hope is that this blog can be a public place to access the lessons learned, curriculum materials, video reflections, planning tools, etc. produced through this project.
The easiest way to follow the project is “follow” the blog by email and receive updates and new content as they appear.
You can also keep up with the project via Twitter (@dgburris) and the curating of important links at Core Transition (on scoop.it). For those who find Pinterest a place where the access content you can also find this project at the board entitled Transitioning to the Common Core.
